Gypsy Rose Blanchard is the star of Gypsy Rose : Life After Lockup. She has confirmed her boyfriend Ken Urker as the father of her unborn child following a paternity prenatal test. Blanchard, 32 years old, announced the news on November 5, in an Instagram posting, dispelling rumors about her unborn daughter’s paternity.
She wrote, “There has been much discussion about the paternity our baby…I think it’s time to finally put these theories to bed,” alongside the results.
She wrote:
Gypsy Rose Blanchard expressed her confidence in Urker’s readiness to fatherhood. She wrote further:
“Ken will be an amazing dad and we’re so excited to welcome the baby into our family.”
This announcement clarifies the legal implications of Blanchard’s pregnancy, which is unfolding amid Louisiana’s paternity law complications. In this case, Ryan Anderson’s name could still appear on Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s birth certificate. He would also be legally required to submit to a paternity testing.
Anderson filed for divorce with Blanchard earlier this year. To prevent his name being automatically added to child’s birth record, a 3-party Affidavit of Paternity must be completed. It has to be accompanied by DNA test results, as per The Louisiana Paternity Establishment Program website.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard faces co-parenting hurdles
Gypsy Rose Blanchard, currently on parole, is facing logistical difficulties establishing co-parenting with Urker due to state-imposed residency restrictions. Blanchard revealed in a recent podcast interview with Nick Viall,
The Viall files
on Oct. 16, that she lives with her parents, but Urker is about an hour away.
She said: “I will be living in
till I am off parole.”
She acknowledged that the distance between them and their daughter would require careful planning. Despite these obstacles, Blanchard and Urker are determined to work together as co-parents, balancing their relationship with the challenges posed by her legal situation.
Blanchard initially announced her pregnancy in July and later revealed in August that she and Urker were expecting a baby girl. Louisiana’s paternity law added another layer of complexity. Anderson agreed to a DNA test in August to avoid any legal complications. The two, who had previously dated, rekindled the relationship in April 2024 after Blanchard filed her divorce with Anderson. Their reconciliation was met with support from Blanchard’s followers, as she frequently shared updates on their relationship and her pregnancy journey on social media.Blanchard’s November 5 Instagram post marked the culmination of months of speculation over the paternity of her baby, which had surfaced shortly after her pregnancy announcement. Both Blanchard and Urker are preparing for their daughter’s birth and focusing on the next steps in their family life. Blanchard is optimistic about the future despite the logistical and legal challenges. She highlighted Urker’s potential as a “great father” in her Instagram post.
