Marvel Studio’s President Kevin Feige, who is in Brazil for D23, gave a comprehensive interview to our friends at Omelete. He shared several important MCU updates.
Much has been said about whether Blade will become a reality following yet another release date delay, and while the reboot remains undated as we write this, Feige insists Mahershala Ali will get his chance to shine in the MCU.
“We’re committed Blade.”
The executive confirmed that they love the character and Mahershala’s rendition of him. Rest assured that we will let you know if we decide to change the direction of a project or still are figuring out how we can fit it into our schedule. You are kept informed. But I can tell you that this character will be in the MCU. ”
Feige answered a question about another long-absent role, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. We expected Agatha All Along would provide a definitive status update for the hero, but all we heard was that Wanda Maximoff “is gone”. Feige stated that ”
We just had Agatha All Along airing on Disney+, and this series was fantastic for us.” Since then, fans have had a lot more questions about Wanda. All I can say now is that we are excited to learn when and how Scarlet Witch will return. ”
With Spider-Man 4 rapidly approaching, the website also wondered if we were nearing Miles Morales long-overdue debut in live-action. “Miles will appear in the third Spider-Verse, which is in production,” he said of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. I hope that he can enter the MCU as a live-action character soon after. “Finally the talk turned to the
X -Men remake.
Marvel Studios, which has held the rights to these films for several years, seems to already have mapped out what role mutants would play in their shared universe. Feige said that when they were working on Avengers: Endgame, the goal was to reach the end of their story. Then, we had to restart from scratch.
“This time on the way to Secret Wars, I’m confident that we know exactly what will happen. The story will continue until then, and beyond. The X-Men play a key role in that future. Asked how Deadpool or Wolverine might fit into the future, he said, “The plans for Deadpool and Wolverine are always the same. We’re always trying to figure out how we can squeeze them in and how quickly.
“Feuge confirmed that we will see more multi-season television shows in the future and acknowledged that 2025, which is expected to feature at least 10 films and series, won’t be the norm.
We’ll have more renewals.
Daredevil – Born Again is the first. We are really excited about premiering the first season in the new year. Filming for the second will already have begun. This shows how much we enjoy the idea of creating shows over several seasons. After all, it’s one the coolest things to see on TV. ”
“I believe I can say we are back to more or less normal. We used to have four films and four television series per year. I believe we will go down to just two films and three series, but not until 2025. We’ve worked on these titles for quite some time and are now ready to release them. Marvel are excited. ”
“When you decide to make two Avengers movies, they will consume you. They are huge, massive, and colossal. We have announced that a Spider-Man movie will be released in between Doomsday & Secret Wars. ”
Feige is on stage in a few hours, so check back for updates about the MCU!
